Lake County Sheriff’s Office Records Second Life Saved By The Use Of Naloxone

On Friday March 27th Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Platt responded to the 13600 block of Rockland Rd in unincorporated Lake Bluff for a reported overdose.

Upon arrival Dep. Platt found the victim Joseph R. Wolf (27) unresponsive with family members performing CPR.

Dep. Platt immediately administered Naloxone to Wolf through an auto-injector that is issued to all Patrol Deputies. Wolf regained consciousness and was transported to Advocate Condell Hospital for treatment.

“This is another example of the value of having Naloxone available for immediate use by Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies” says Lake County Sheriff Mark C. Curran Jr.

This is one of two instances in a 26 hour period where Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies performed life saving measures in order to save the lives of Lake County citizens.

On Thursday March 26th Lake County Deputies James Yanecek and Mike Nudi arrived at the Shell gas station, located in the 41000 block of Rt. 59 in unincorporated Antioch, to find the victim Gary J. Williams (54) unresponsive behind the counter.

Deputies Yanecek and Nudi used CPR and an issued AED to stabilize Williams until Antioch Rescue could arrive and take over treatment. Williams was transported to St. Catherine’s Hospital for continued treatment.
